Perinatal refers to the period around a childbirth.

Perinatal was inspired by Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé, the part called Daybreak.

Emma, Erik and Peter recorded the song in a stairwell while Fredrik was away buying beer.
The piano part on the second half of the song is inspired by the jazz legend Keith Jarrett and his Köln concert.

This song is one of few in regular 4/4 beat. But the song still contains a tempo shift. Trying to keep it simple have been one of our big weaknesses.

The acoustic guitar was recorded last minute in a wardrobe.
Stalemate is a situation in chess when a player is not in check but has no legal moves.

This track was inspired by Indian structure music called Carnatic.

Practicing a lot for this song we still ended up sound replacing.

All the credit for Indian musicians who are able to perform a Korvai.
IV is an abbrivation for intravenous therapy and is also the number four in roman numerals.

Peter wrote the middle part for piano and Fredrik later transcribed it for guitar.

The song is heavily influenced by the playing style of Stanley Jordan, the master of two hand tapping.
Anexate is the trade name of Flumazenil which has been used as an antidote to overdoses.

Peter completed the lyrics for this song while reading the book "Demian" by Herman Hesse and got inspired by some of the symbols in it.

We really aimed to get the vocals sounding natural when the song goes in 5/4. The overall feel are inspired by Pat Metheny's Last Train Home.

While writing this song Peter played Beethoven's "Appassionata". Though it sounds completely different some of the piano patterns are quite similar.
Suizen is a kind of zen practice where you play on a shakuhachi bamboo flute in order to reach self-realization.

Erik Edlund ended up playing on 4 different
snare drums during this song.

The sound at 01:42 are a drum stick bouncing on the guitar played backwards.

The main piano riff is again inspired by the great pianist Keith Jarrett.

The bass guitarr melody in the calm middle part is inspired by the song "Song For Jens" by the Indo-Swedish group "Mynta".
30,000 feet is about the height a civillian passanger flight cruises.

The beat in this song evolves around the classical Toto song Rosanna.

We really wanted to make an electronic song with a shuffle feel.

The main melody around 00:59 are inspired by the guitarist Mattias Eklundh who really took tapping to a new level after Eddy van Halen.
The song is named after the artwork chosen to represent the song. "Valentine of Milan" is a painting by François Fleury-Richard and it was painted in 1802.

This song contains many vocals looping around. Being a very popular way of making music today. As Imogen Heap and Theresa Andersson has done.
Dabda is an abbreviation for the five stages of grief according to the Swiss American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.

This song was written last minute in order to replace another song that Fredrik and Peter thought didn't come out too well after the mixing (due to the composers shortcomings, not the mix engineers).

Our mix engineer, Fred Zakariassen, really sighed deeply when we told him that we needed to make a new version of this song.

Sound replacing almost everything. From a heavy progressive to a more electronic sound.

The only song with completly digital drums. Erik Edlund did record them but unfortunately we couldn't get the punch we wanted out of them. You can briefly hear him play the loop in this YouTube clip.
Completing the square is, in algebra, a technique for solving quadratic equations.

The original idea of this song was to use the bass guitar as a solo instrument.

The drum recordings of this song are available on YouTube. Watch Erik Edlund do some drum improvisation.

The choir is recorded in Peter's bedroom.

In the middle part with the drums we really wanted to create the kind of soundscape that Sigur Rós does in their song Með Blóðnasir. Especially the drum sound, using a lot of different cymbals and irregular drum patterns.
Suizen is a kind of zen practice where you play on a shakuhachi bamboo flute in order to reach self-realization.

Trying to get as many musical sound as we can. We aimed for an unplugged sound too.

And maybe a song little more gentle towards the ears.

Everything except the flute was recorded live in a park next to a playground in Östersund.

Gunnar Stenmark plays the flute which he also made himself by hand. He runs a business in Jämtland, Sweden where he hand makes and sells this kind of traditional, swedish flutes.
Alsomitra macrocarpa is a plant with a special kind of "flying" seed that grows in the tropical Asian forests.

The making of this song were possible through a digital process. First recording the vocals and then making the comp follow through digital means.

Otherwise we had been forced to play along to a floating tempo. Doing some musical photoshopping when you don't got the skills.
4 different songs were written as a finale to this album. This was the last of them.

We really wanted to make it sound like a jamming session with all the musicians together in one place.

And a funny part is that many of the musicians playing on this track have never met each other.

To get some edge on the guitar solo Fredrik removed all the strings except one.

Last Things First

Will this be the last thing I see?
Please don't answer, I'm scared enough
There's no doubt that my heart won't let
me shout
After what I put it through

Turning red, am I your kind?
Thank your for not telling me
You won't be the last thing that I see
But probably the last one on my mind

Don't worry, honestly
you've saved me endlessly
Don't panic, heart of mine
I'm off but you'll be fine

Don't think I will let you go
Don't you know I'll follow

Don't think I will let you fall
Don't you know I'll catch you

Blood is red but love is to
Don't think love will pass you

There's more then you
There's more then me
There's more then you
There is more then we

Can it be where I'm headed?
Where rounds run out and trouble ends
Stalemate Noise

Sweet child, don't you dare
The path you're on leads nowhere
Sweet child, don't you dare

Anexate

Don't mind the wind
but do mind the edge
You'll be fully-fledged
then the wind will mind you

Don't mind the clouds
and don't mind it's cry
You'll be sailing high
then the clouds will hide you

Don't mind the miles
and don't mind the height
you may just might
this time make it

In front of you everything lies
without being in your way
Don't look back just leave those broken
eggshells lost in yesterday

Look now and listen
feel the gust of your airborne sisters

Wake up, start breathing
newborn queen of a worldwide kingdom
Sui-

I recall a brightness reaching for us two
I want you to reach it too
I recall a brightness reaching me and you
It needs you to carry through
30,000-0

Don't you let your tears fall for me
Cause I am falling for them
Valentine of Milan

Who am I supposed to hold now?
You were now supposed to hold me
How am I supposed to know how?
How am I supposed to be what we were
supposed to be?

What am I supposed to?
How am I supposed to know, what I am
supposed to?
What am I supposed to?

What am I?
What am II?
What am I?
What am II I?

What am I supposed to?
How am I supposed to be what we were
supposed to be?
How am I supposed to know, what I am
supposed to?

What am I?

Completing The Square

I dropped the other shoe
running my feet numb
Running my memo trough
I don't know anything

I lost my raincoat to
It's useless anyway
Nothing will ever keep my cheeks dry
I don't know anything

I forgot what i dropped
I don't know what I really lost
My feet are hurting still
At this rate they always will

I forgot what i dropped
I don't know what I really lost
My cheeks are yet to dry
I do not know why

Shut up, stand still and stay clear
Lesson learned in vain
Something you're still hiding
Help me see outside my square
Help me stand the rain
Say and I'll stop running

Sweet child few more steps
The kind that points to where
You'll get near sweet child

The lines connect now
I hear the laughter I've forgotten
I will keep running till I find that joyful
voice and the light that caused it

It's clearing up now
I hear a song that I've forgotten
I will keep running till I find that joyful
voice and the light that caused it
-zen

Hey sunshine, hold your light for me
I'm old and weary I need you to see
the tulips and daffodils
and I can tell they need your light as well
Light from your vivid soul
through eyes bigger
than the world we stole
Please sunshine don't leave yet
Forever's too short in the colors of sunset

Where have you put my troubled mind?
Where have you put my messed-up mind?

Hey starlight your magic spell
works much better then my wishing-well
A quarter for you above
and you turn it into a million pieces of love
Oh starlight, like pouring gold
grants all my wishes even those untold
So starlight I wish for you
I wish that all of your dreams to come true

Where have you put my troubled mind?
Where have you put my messed-up mind?

Hello moonglow with your nightly bliss
You are the force that makes us kiss
You set sail for every silver-ship
You are at the end of every fingertip
Youngest daughter in the castle of lights
Youngest of all but still
keeps the night bright
Goodbye moonglow soon greets the day
though I have a feeling
you'll be seeing us anyway

Where have you put my troubled mind?
Where have you put my messed-up mind?
Alsomitra

Good bye
I will
keep the light on
I'm learning still
Good bye
I'll try
But keep in contact
Keep us safe
Keep me on track
I know you can't be near
I know you won't be there
I'll keep the light on
I'll keep the light on
I know you'll see me there
Love II

Always mend
I know I've met you before
You must be the first that I've seen

I've left the winter now
Left the storm to see spring be reborn
And what it can turn into
Stay close now
Watch as all needles of tainted
snow melts around you

Young one, guard my hands,
keep them busy
My wrists will stay clean
There will always be sharp edges
But we can dance between

Keep on keeping on. Don't stop.
Nothing will tie us down or hold us up
My vision clear
Headed there where ropes of any kind
won't bother us

Look out! Watch your step and
all the arrows
They wants us by the ground
Archers will face more then fragile temple
Now when you are around

Feet are movin' up
Heads getting tall
I've seen heights like this before
From here and from below
But you saved me from the fall

Don't think I will let you go
Don't you know I'll follow

Don't think I will let you fall
Don't you know I'll catch you

Blood is red but love is to
Don't think love will pass you

No doubt. My heart will shout

Oh, sweet child I'll be near
Oh, sweet child I'll be there
